Recently, the Gansu Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (hereinafter referred to as "CCPIT Gansu"), taking advantage of the "China-Central Asia Summit", actively seized the development opportunity of the "Belt and Road" and organized economic and trade delegations to visit Kazakhstan to carry out a series of economic and trade negotiations. To further promote all-round exchanges and cooperation between Gansu Province and Kazakhstan in the fields of economy, technology, culture, science and technology, energy, education and tourism, a number of cooperation intentions have been reached and a number of trade agreements have been signed.

This trip to Kazakhstan to carry out economic and trade activities is one of the key exhibition activities determined by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government at the beginning of the year. It is the economic and trade delegation with the largest number of visitors and the most types of enterprises in our province in recent years. 72 institutions and enterprises from Lanzhou, Baiyin, Zhangye, Jiuquan, Wuwei, Jinchang, Linxia, Qingyang, Longnan and other cities and states and Lanzhou New District, 102 people participated. It covers international logistics, equipment manufacturing, mineral development, cross-border e-commerce, food, agriculture and other fields. During their stay in Kazakhstan, the economic and trade delegation carried out intensive activities such as business visits, sister city exchanges, project promotion, product display, economic and trade docking and field visits, and held two large-scale economic and trade events in Astana and Almaty, including the China (Gansu) -Kazakhstan Economic and Trade Promotion Conference and the China-Kazakhstan Business Promotion Conference, with more than 400 participants.

During the visit, the Gansu delegation also visited key institutions and enterprises such as the representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Kazakhstan, the Federation of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, the State Investment Company of Kazakhstan, and the State-owned Railway Company of Kazakhstan, and carried out sister province, state and city exchanges with Kustanai and Shimkent of Kazakhstan. Cultural exchanges were carried out with the Confucius Institute of Ali Farabi Kazakh State University, the opening ceremony of the overseas warehouse of Gansu International Logistics Group was held, and the logistics park, international financial center and agricultural wholesale market in Kazakhstan were inspected.

In the meantime, 17 trade and investment project agreements were signed, involving a contract amount of 50 million US dollars, plus 2 large projects that have reached trade and investment cooperation intentions, involving import and export trade intentions of 230 million US dollars, and a total of nearly 2 billion yuan of trade orders were implemented, including mineral products, agricultural products, chemical products trade, metallurgical equipment, construction and installation projects and other fields.

Ma Xuili, president of the Gansu Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that in 2023, the Gansu Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade has arranged more than 30 domestic and foreign economic and trade activities, of which overseas activities are the top priority, and will continue to increase the work of "inviting in and going out" in the second half of the year to promote the province's high-quality opening up to contribute to trade promotion.
